Part-time Library Assistant
The Community Library seeks a part-time Library Assistant to work at the main circulation desk. The person in this position works extensively with the public in providing a range of library services and creating a welcoming and helpful environment. Primary tasks include registering new library patrons and issuing library cards; checking out and renewing items; providing information to patrons; providing basic technology assistance to patrons; and processing new books. The Library Assistant also works within the library collection to shelve and locate materials and assist with collection maintenance. Excellent communication skills and a sincere interest in books are necessary; proficiency in both Spanish and English is highly preferred. The person in this position reports to the Circulation Supervisor. The position entails some evening and weekend hours.

Regional History Assistant Librarian
The Regional History Department seeks a dynamic and innovative assistant librarian who has some familiarity with archives processing, oral history transcription, inventory work, careful handling of rare materials, and general library services. The candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and research ability. He/she is responsible for finding aid work, providing instructional support to patrons and volunteers, and relationship building for all aspects of archives and special collections. We are a department actively engaged in the transformation of workflow to meet evolving trends in historical information discovery and access. This part-time position requires a bachelor’s degree and weekend availability.
