Multi Emmy and British Academy award-winning filmmaker Anthony Geffen returns to The Community Library to give a special preview, and answer questions about this new film. This will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s greatest naturalist, Sir David Attenborough, as he travels over the last decade to extraordinary parts of the world, and meets astonishing animals (don’t miss this! The film will not be released in the US until the summer of 2017).
As Attenborough celebrates his 90th birthday, this unique film follows the most recent decade in an incredible career. In his early 80’s many assumed, including himself, the broadcaster had achieved all he possibly could in his career, but Attenborough turned his back on retirement to embark upon one of the most prolific chapters of his career yet. This would include making 11 ground-breaking projects with award-winning filmmaker Anthony Geffen and his team, using pioneering technology, such as 3D, 4K and virtual reality. This intimate film contains behind-the-scenes footage shot over 7 years, new interviews and extraordinary clips from some of his recent films, and follows Attenborough from the Galapagos Islands, to the deserts of Morocco, to the jungles of Borneo, and to an extraordinary interview by Barack Obama. The film captures an Attenborough never seen before, and we discover a side to David that few have had the privilege of seeing.
